Whether you're looking to improve your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or learn to move your body how you've always wanted, I'm ready to help you develop skills and achieve your goals as fast as possible. How can I help?
I started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) in 2011 after trying a free class on my college campus. Looking back, I'm lucky I was introduced to the art the way I was: challenging but accessible. My instructor gave me the tools, framework, and opportunity to problem solve under just the right amount of pressure.Less than two years later, I graduated college with a blue belt and a Bachelor's degree in hand, setting off into the real world. While I've never truly stopped training - work, injuries, and deployment (among other things) have gotten in the way. I know exactly what it's like to adapt your training to fit around other priorities in your life, or sometimes, have to put it on hold entirely. But I've always come back and been better for it.I've also been very lucky in my travels to train at a dozen plus schools and taken lessons from some of the best instructors in the art. In 2019, I tested for, and received, my purple belt from 6th degree Black Belt, Roy Harris.Since my early days as a white belt in my college training room, I've had a passion for sharing and teaching BJJ. I believe it can benefit everyone, not just athletes and competitors, if presented in a methodical, fun, and encouraging environment. In early 2022, I became a certified personal trainer with GMB Fitness, a fantastic organization that believes smart training can help you build physical freedom and skill for the activities you enjoy most; something I totally agree with. I also made the decision to leave my former career to pursue teaching and coaching full time.I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your goals, whatever they are.
